Former Essence Editor's Debut Novel Available on BUY220.com

BUY220.COM Features "E-Males" the debut by former Essence magazine editor Marcia McNair.

Chicago, IL, January 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- 220 Communications announces the addition of "E-Males" the debut novel from Marcia L. McNair to its BUY220.com web site.

"E-Males" is an intimate glimpse of what African American women really think and say when they think no one else is around. Ebony and Wanita connect on the Internet, and proceed to rant and rave about on- and off-line romances, meddling mothers, single parenting, workplace drama, and brothers on the Down Low while simultaneously debating serious issues about race, class, and gender.

Marcia McNair is a professor of English at Nassau Community College and teaches African American Literature at Molloy College. She received a grant in 2006 and 2007 from the Long Island Council for the Arts at Freeport to perform, produce and direct "Diary of A Mad Black Feminist". A former assistant editor at Essence, she writes fiction, creative nonfiction, and social commentary. E-Males is her first novel published on her own Aya Press imprint.

Aya Press' mission is to publish books ordinarily rejected by mainstream publishers for being too controversial and/or noncommercial. Aya Press accepts submissions from writers who have a unique vision of the world and have chosen to share it through nonfiction, fiction, and creative nonfiction with thought provoking content that exemplifies the operating principle of the Adinkra word aya: defiance, independence, and resourcefulness.
