assessURhealth™ Attends White House Panel on Mental Health & Suicide Prevention

Washington, DC, October 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- assessURhealth™, a leading mental and behavioral health assessment application provider, attended the White House Making Health Care Better Series: Suicide Prevention panel on September 29, 2016. One of a select handful of invitees, assessURhealth™ promotes early diagnosis and preventative screening to better identify and treat patients at risk for suicide.

The panel included representatives from the Trevor Project, Department of Veteran Affairs, the personal stories of suicide survivors and more. Among statistics covered, the panel noted that only 39% of those with mental health or substance abuse needs are currently getting treatment in the United States. The panel went on to touch on the impact suicide has beyond its mortality toll and shares stories from suicide survivors as well as family members of suicide victims.

“It’s an honor to advocate for and raise awareness of mental health needs on such an important stage,” said Mallory Taylor, Cofounder and Chief Architect of assessURhealth™. “The event was extremely rewarding to attend, and the stories and projects this group of individuals shared touched on both why mental health matters and what we are doing to improve our care for these needs as a society.”

The September panel was one of a five-part White House series highlighting progress made in improving our health system including advancements in mental health research, quality of care, delivery of and parity in services, and coverage.
