Centennial Medical Plaza ER Announces Pediatric Care Designation from Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children
Aurora, CO, January 18, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Centennial Medical Plaza announced today that its Emergency Room (ER) is now part of the Pediatric Care network within the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (RMHC) through HealthONE.

In order to obtain the Pediatric Care designation, the ER underwent a rigorous survey process to ensure that they meet the highest standards in pediatric care as set forth by Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. This includes care provided by specially trained pediatric ER nurses, specialized equipment, and unique procedures for treating pediatric patients as well an environment designed for safety to make the young patient feel as at ease as possible.

“We are excited about this designation because it confirms our commitment to providing the services needed in the communities we serve,” said Dan Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA). Centennial Medical Plaza is a campus of TMCA. “We want parents to know that we can provide outstanding care for their children, in their community, if the need arises and we want them to be comfortable bringing their child to our ER.”

The Pediatric Care designation with Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children gives patients access to the widest spectrum of pediatric specialty care in Denver, including the most advanced Pediatric OR in the entire country. If a child is in need of ongoing care, he or she would be transferred to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children’s leading Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or Inpatient Pediatric Unit.

“We are pleased to add Centennial Medical Plaza ER to the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children care network,” said Dr. Reggie Washington, Chief Medical Officer at RMHC. “We want parents to have options in their community when seeking care for their children. We have a very thorough process for granting the pediatric care designation, ensuring that our designated locations provide the safest, highest quality of pediatric care available, with the support of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children if a higher level of care is necessary.”
