Mel Shannon Performing at 2nd Annual Mental Health Art Benefit.
Denver, CO, February 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Empowered Partnerships, a Recruitment Outsourcing and Consulting firm for the Mental and Behavioral Health Industry, is proud to host the 2nd Annual Mental Health Art Benefit on March 17th at Regis University.
This year, in addition to the silent auction of art and experiences, EP is excited to feature three local Comedians. One of the comedians performing is Mel Shannon.
Mel was born and raised in Orlando, Florida with his two brothers and three sisters. He is proud of his father who raised his siblings and him, and created a welcoming home with children from all different races.
Mel lives in Colorado with “the love of my life” and their two children, Mikayla and Jimel Jr., both of whom are, per Mel, “future comedians.”
He has a personal relationship to the Mental Health industry as he has family members that suffer from bipolar disorder, autism, and some in recovery from substance abuse. He has seen firsthand how Mental Illness can affect family members.
“I use that pain in me to make any and every one laugh,” Mel said.
Mel recently had a show at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse and performs regularly around Colorado. Mel has also performed with Preston Lacey from MTV’s Jackass in New York, Rob Van Dam of WWE in Denver and he is a former host of the Orlando Improv.
Mel is performing around Denver at Open Mic’s, and will be performing in Los Angeles at Laugh Factory in April.
