Local Teacher Announces Campaign for State Superintendent Office

Local teacher, Kathy Hoffman, has announced her candidacy for the Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction office.

Phoenix, AZ, April 06, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Local teacher and Democrat, Kathy Hoffman, has announced that she will be running for Superintendent of Public Instruction in Arizona. Kathy has multiple years of experience and a strong, practical agenda. Kathy will be a serious challenger in the Democratic primary and as a special education teacher in a diverse Title I school, she understands the needs of our state’s students and fights for the right to a quality education for all students.

As Kathy states: "The state of Arizona’s education system needs repair. In Arizona, we are losing teachers continually, have a shockingly low graduation rate, and are consistently ranked as one of the worst states for education in America. This is unacceptable and I have a plan to fix it."

Kathy’s experience teaching in public schools and research at the University of Arizona has positioned her with a strong set of beliefs and powerful ideas that she believes can fix Arizona’s education system:

Expanding preschool and full-day kindergarten programs

Improving graduation rates through broadening CTE, STEM and ELL programs

Supporting Special Education students and programs

Providing resources for students from marginalized populations including LGBT and ELL students.

Working with legislators for increased teacher retention through pay raises and loan forgiveness

Through this plan, Kathy Hoffman will end Arizona’s education crisis and create a school system that works for all students, parents and teachers. For more information on Kathy's vision for Arizona's schools, visit www.electkathyhoffman.com
