Mayor Gerald Williams, White Castle, Has a Passion for Creating Opportunity, Music and Entertainment to Raise Awareness
Baton Rouge, LA, November 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- One mayor has a passion for creating opportunity, music and entertainment to raise awareness for causes like Sickle Cell Anemia, Breast Cancer Awareness and even creating safe Halloween experiences for kids. “BOO ON BOWIE was an Awesome! Success!,” the Mayor said. “No kids on the streets at night! Got their goodies loaded; packed their bags; and went home safely! Mannnnn, tonight was awesome!”

Gerald Jermarr Williams, Mayor of White Castle, Louisiana, has hit a record high this year in hosting functions for the elderly, hosting awareness events for Sickle Cell Survivors, bringing in ACT Camps for Youth, self hosting Math Tutoring Sessions for Teens, and developing Community Functions for town residents. This October he used his passion for music to highlight awareness for Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness.

During the finals weeks of October, the Town of White Castle celebrated “The Pink Out Experience.” The Mayor, Council, and Town Staff worked hard to make the event a night to be remembered. Residents were treated to a variety of performances by The Ocmund Band, One Shot Brass Band & NTune while learning about Breast Cancer and honoring the town’s Heroes and Survivors. One participant even won tickets to a Saints game.

As an added bonus, Little Miss Southern was invited to give a heartwarming tribute during the event. “Breast Cancer can be life changing but so many people don’t properly understand it,” Mayor Williams said. “I hope to do all I can to raise awareness.”
