Silver Creek Industries Wins a First Place MBI Award of Distinction 2018
Silver Creek Industries (SCI) (silver-creek.net) was named first place winner of the permanent modular education over 10,000 sf category of the Modular Building Institute’s (MBI) 2018 Awards of Distinction for its KIPP Three-Story Charter School project.
Perris, CA, April 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Awards of Distinction, the modular building industry's premier award program recognizing design excellence in structures built utilizing prefabricated systems, were presented at the World of Modular's 35th Annual Convention in Hollywood, Florida on March 25th.
KIPP Academy is a three-story, 27,429 sf structure which houses an entire charter school campus and related functional spaces. The building contains 18 classrooms, a kitchen, multipurpose space, administrative spaces, interior corridors, an interior elevator, and interior stairs. The building exterior features plaster with a bright color palette and aluminum glazing systems. The finished building reflects the coordinated efforts of all team members to provide a design focused experience. Due to the complexity and scope of the project, the ability to perform the work in a factory environment provided the opportunity for significant cost reductions and increased quality control measures.

This year's MBI Awards of Distinction included more than 100 entries from projects worldwide. The permanent modular education over 10,000 sf category had 8 entries for projects from Oregon to Massachusetts.
