iUniverse Announces the Release of Danea Gorbett's Adopted Teens Only

So I’m Adopted, Now What? New book aims to help adopted teenagers understand their past, present and future.

New York, NY, March 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Angelina and Brad do it. So does Madonna. And countless other celebrities have joined with thousands of other people across the United States. What is ‘it’ exactly? Adoption.

Adoption, whether done domestically or internationally, is a positive trend and will continue to increase as the years progress. However, in all of the joy that an addition to the family brings come emotions from the adopted children that they aren’t able to explain and their adoptive parents aren’t able to understand.

Luckily, Adopted Teens Only: a Survival Guide to Adolescence by author Danea Gorbett gives teens and their adoptive parents the answers and guidance they need to understand the emotional rollercoaster of adoption.

In Adopted Teens Only: a Survival Guide to Adolescence, Gorbett shares her firsthand knowledge of the questions that comes with not knowing a biological parent. This knowledge, matched with her years of work in special education and adoption assistance, gives adoptees and their families the tools to understanding emotions. Adopted Teens Only: A Survival Guide to Adolescence delivers:

• Suggestions for bringing up sensitive topics with all types of adoptive parents
• Insight on what your adoptive parents might be going through
• True stories of birth mothers
• Practical information on whether and how to search for birth parents
• Seasoned advice on what to expect and how to prepare for reuniting with a birth parent.

Adopted teens and their adoptive parents don’t have to navigate the confusing world of adoption and emotion alone. With Adopted Teens Only: a Survival Guide to Adolescence, both sides can begin to create a dialogue that fosters love and acceptance.
