Immortal Works Releases Pioneering Steampunk Anthology

Immortal Works Press is excited to announce the publication of All Made of Hinges: Being an Anthology of Mormon Steampunk, edited by James Wymore.

Salt Lake City, UT, December 05, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Immortal Works Press is excited to announce the publication of All Made of Hinges: Being an Anthology of Mormon Steampunk, edited by James Wymore. Two additional volumes will follow in January (Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel, ed. John M. Olsen) and March (Press Forward, Saints, ed. D.J. Butler).

Cheerful in the face of dark opposition. Innovative to improve a backward world. Industrial as a cure for oppressive conditions. Unyielding beneath all who seek to bind and control them. Faithful until they conquer the fear of death and rise to great acts of heroism and service. Mormons and Steampunks are two faces of the same coin. Twelve authors spin tales of true believers facing impossible odds, risking this life in the hope of gaining something better after.

Each story in all three volumes is informed in some way by Latter-day Saint (Mormon) history, culture, or doctrine, although not all authors are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And every story is Steampunk, an emerging genre that allows writers and readers to reimagine a fantastic technological past of the sort envisioned by 19th Century science fiction writers such as Jules Verne (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) and H.G. Wells (The Time Machine).

Authors include best-selling and award-winning writers such as Scott Tarbet and Steven L. Peck, as well a number of debut authors.

The project was originally proposed by best-selling author D.J. Butler as a single book, but as editor James Wymore says, “response was overwhelming. As stories continued to pour in, we knew it wouldn’t fit in a single volume. We decided to split it, until so many more came in, that we invited John M. Olsen to help us. In the end, it’s an incredible collection with a broad range of imagination.”

All Made of Hinges is available now in ebook format via Amazon and paperback. Pick up your copy today.
