Lihue, HI, January 21, 2019 --(PR.com)-- “Playwrights and Wanna-be Playwrights – Time to get your works on stage in front of supportive and enthusiastic audiences!” – Nell Foster, Artistic Director, Kauai’s Women In Theatre.

Who: Women In Theatre (WIT’s End) with a 20 year history as a Community Theatre in Kauai.

What: Seeks submissions from playwrights and wanna-be playwrights for their 7th biennial 10-Minute Shorts Play Festival. Maximum of 5 characters and minimal technical support given preference.

When: Deadline for submissions is April 1, 2018 and the staging of the Festival plays will take place three weekends starting August 8, 2019.

Where: All information on the criteria for participants to submit their unpublished and unproduced plays can be found at www.WomenInTheatre.Org. Selected plays will be staged at Women in Theatre’s WIT’s End in Kukui Grove Center, Lihue, Kauai.

Why: Their purpose for the 10-Minute Play Festival is to provide a unique collaboration among new and experienced playwrights and directors with an opportunity to express, explore and experiment in the evolution of new plays while developing their skills and providing local actors stage time to develop their craft. Ten plays will be selected from the first 100 received. There is a $10 fee per each submission but only one play per playwright will be selected. A $100 award awaits the Best Play and $100 will be awarded for the Best Staged Play. While Women in Theatre started out as an artistic expressions for women, women still receive special emphasis but the focus is now on creating opportunities for all ages and genders. They welcome your submissions and look forward to working with new and returning playwrights.
