Miami Photographer’s Art Used as Decor in Oprah Winfrey Network Series

South Florida-Based Photographer/Visual Artist Jonathan Brooks' Photographs Used as Set Decor in OWN’s David Makes Man.

Miami, FL, August 06, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Palm images and other works by award-winning Miami Photographer/Visual Artist Jonathan Brooks are featured as set decor in the OWN’s upcoming original drama series David Makes Man.

The set in Florida coming-of-age Summer release stars The Cosby Show’s Phylicia Rashad, was written by Oscar-winning Moonlight co-writer Tarell Alvin McCraney, and premieres August 14, 2019.

“I’m extremely excited about having my work included in this highly anticipated series,” says Brooks. “And that I was able to help promote some fellow Miami artists to the project is an added bonus.”

“I believe having your art used in a major movie or television show adds a credibility to your work and makes it a part of pop culture.”

Other Miami artists who have their art featured in the series include Dania Sierra, Meg Wallace, and Eliott Prada.

Brooks' art has also appeared as decor in the 2018 film Uncle Drew starring Kyrie Irving, the 2017 film Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates starring Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick, and in the 2016 National Endowment for the Arts Emmy nominated short film series United States of Art, which celebrates the organization’s 50th Anniversary.

In 2015, his Skull series was featured on The CW's hugely popular and award-winning television series The Vampire Diaries.

About David Makes Man
David Makes Man is a drama from Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight), his first TV project. McCraney serves as executive producer of the series alongside Dee Harris-Lawrence (Shots Fired, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.).

The coming-of-age series follows a 14 year old genius named David from the projects, who is haunted by the death of his closest friend and relied on by his hardworking mother to find a way out of poverty.
