Junior Achievement of North Florida Continues to Increase Student Reach

The nonprofit organization has increased its reach every year since 2001.

Jacksonville, FL, August 15, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Junior Achievement of North Florida has increased their student reach for the 18th straight year. The nonprofit has released its year-end analysis and the organization was able to reach 62,355 students in the 2018-19 school year. It is an increase of more than 2,900 students from the prior school year.

“I am so proud of the JA staff and board of directors and so thankful for the volunteers and donors who have helped us reach our goals, year after year,” said Steve St. Amand, president of JA of North Florida. “Since our programs are valuable, we strive to increase the number of students we reach and help prepare for the future. As we move into the new school year, we are working to attract more donors and more volunteers so we can teach our programs to even more students.”

The increase in student reach for the 2018-19 school year continues the pattern of increases that started in 2001. In addition, the number of volunteers who helped JA of North Florida and the number of classes taught also increased. In 2018-19, 1,547 volunteers helped to teach 2,668 classes to the more than 62,000 students. JA of North Florida is the second-largest JA area in Florida in students reached and ranks 24 out of the 107 JA chapters in the U.S.

There are a number of ways the community can help bring JA programs to more First Coast students in the coming year. Donations will help to fund the programs and program materials and volunteers can sign up to help teach the courses to the students. The community can also participate in any of the fundraising events the organization has each year. Right now, JA of North Florida’s Golden Ticket is underway. It is a fundraising raffle that offers donors a chance to win the ultimate entertainment package. A limited number of tickets are available through Aug. 29 at 12 p.m. For more information, visit janfl.org or contact Tiffany Mackey Guthrie at tiffany@janfl.org or 904-398-9944 ext. 230.
