Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Mapleton, IA closes its business and sells 40 major pieces of heavy construction equipment at auction on April 24, 2008. Stock Auction Company will be conducting the auction.

Mapleton, IA, April 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Some 40 major pieces of heavy construction equipment will be for sale at auction on April 24 as Anderson Construction Company, Inc., of Mapleton, IA, closes its business. The equipment includes GPS-ready Caterpillar dozers as new as 2006 and Caterpillar excavators, motor graders, all terrain dump trucks (2005), scrapers and miscellaneous pieces.

The company, which has provided county road and highway site development work throughout Iowa and Nebraska, began in 1949 as Dale B. Anderson Construction. It was incorporated in 1963 with its present name. In serving primarily state and federal government entities with watershed, drain and grading work, Anderson Construction has been involved in such major efforts as the Highway 75 bypass at Sioux City and laying corridor for the four-lane Highway 60 north of Sioux City. The company has employed as many as 35 employees.

Dale Anderson was active in the firm until his death in 1990. His son, Steve, who is the current president, began working for the firm full-time in 1973 and became a shareholder in the 1980s. Medical limitations are forcing Steve Anderson, who survived a serious automobile accident two years ago, to liquidate.

Numerous single and tandem axle trucks, pickups, trailers, and water wagon/tanker trucks are being offered along with GPS equipment and small equipment. According to Steve Anderson, the heavy equipment has had one owner—his firm—and been worked in Iowa soil, which is known to be easy on machinery.

Stock Auction Company of St. Edward, NE, is handling the auction. Visit www.stockra.com to view a complete listing and photos of Anderson Construction’s equipment being auctioned.

Bidding can be done before or during the auction online, but pre-registration is required at least 24 hours before the sale. Payment is due the day of the auction by cash or certified check. Company and personal checks are accepted if accompanied by a bank letter guaranteeing the funds.
