The LEED Green Building System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
Lockhart, who oversees six commercial projects totaling $60 million, has more than 10 years of industry experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree of environmental design in architecture and a master’s degree of architecture from North Carolina State University. A native of Golden, CO., she resides in Durham, N.C.
