Research by Principled Technologies Found That an All-Dell Laptop Fleet Can Cost Less to Purchase and Maintain Than a Mixed IT Environment of Apple and Dell Devices

Durham, NC, July 20, 2023 --(PR.com)-- Principled Technologies (PT) released a new research paper that compares the cost of purchasing and maintaining a fleet of all-Dell devices and that of a mixed IT environment comprised of Dell and Apple devices. PT compared the cost of two model environments: one fleet of 10,000 Dell devices and one fleet of 5,000 Dell and 5,000 Apple devices. PT included the cost of purchasing and maintaining the devices for a three-year period, including accessories, support and deployment services, and management and security software.

According to the report, “the all-Dell IT environment was up to 9.7 percent less expensive without accessories, and up to 22.4 percent less expensive with accessories over a three-year period.” Additionally, PT found that Dell offers laptop purchasers more choices, so they only pay for the features and performance they need. The report also states that “the simplification of management, deployment, security, and support associated with a homogeneous IT environment has the potential to further lower IT costs.”
