Principled Technologies Testing Shows the Benefits of Upgrading to the Latest-Generation Dell PowerEdge R7625 Servers for Machine Learning Applications
Principled Technologies measured the performance of two generations of Dell PowerEdge servers while running k-means clustering and Bayesian analysis workloads and found that upgrading to 16G Dell PowerEdge R7625 servers powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors could allow organizations to process these machine learning workloads faster.
Durham, NC, September 05, 2023 --(PR.com)-- Organizations that use machine learning algorithms to unlock insights into their data can gain a competitive edge by using systems that offer higher performance processing these workloads. The faster your servers can process machine learning workloads, the more frequently you can run algorithms against new data models, potentially meaning the insights you unlock are more accurate and more useful. To shed light on the advantages of upgrading to the latest systems, Principled Technologies (PT) compared the machine learning performance of a 15G Dell PowerEdge R7525 server and a 16G Dell PowerEdge R7625 server using two workloads from the HiBench benchmark suite.
According to the report, “The latest-generation server had 70.0 percent higher throughput and completed the k-means workload 41.2 percent faster than the previous-generation device.” The PowerEdge R7625 also achieved 19.5 percent more throughput than the previous-generation server running a Bayesian classification workload.
Additionally, the report suggests that “organizations that upgrade could also save money by reducing their energy/cooling costs and consolidating servers and their associated licensing fees.”
