Fighting Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell at Harvard Harvard Humanists Honor Lt. Dan Choi for Commitment to Equal Rights

The Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard (HCH) and the Harvard Gay & Lesbian Caucus will honor Lt. Dan Choi and his commitment to equal rights for gays in the military on September 17. On March 19, 2009, Lt. Dan Choi announced he was gay to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. Overnight he became the courageous face of opposition to the U.S. Military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Lt. Choi will receive HCH's first ever award for Service to Humanity, to be given annually to a Harvard student. - September 18, 2009
