With the communist Revolutions of 1989, fiction writing in previously suppressed and censored Eastern Bloc countries has found a renaissance and talented writers to take up the call. Writing in English, Ariane Vai is such a writer, one of a new wave of science fiction and fantasy authors to come out of Poland.
