I wanted to integrate being an artist into my life,” explains Ferré. Now hundreds of would-be artists have completed her courses. “We started with a couple of classes on painting,” she says. “Now it includes corporate seminars for executives at American Express and others.”
In her new book, The Artist Within: A Guide to Becoming Creatively Fit, Ferré explains the secrets to unlocking right-brain capabilities and applying artist frameworks to life. The idea, advanced at the TED Conference, and through recent books such as Jill Bolte Taylor’s My Stroke of Insight and Dan Pink’s A Whole New Mind is gaining momentum as a movement.
Based on the principles of design, Ferré book shows how to strengthen creative ability into a reality by working the right brain through exercises. “This is for everyone who wants to create change and leave the world around them different and better than when they started,” she says.
Whitney Ferré has helped hundreds of people to find their creativity as founder of the Creative Fitness Center. The Center first gained national recognition on HGTV. Today she continues her outreach as an artist, a wife, a mother, a teacher, a seminar leader, and co-owner of Rumours Wine Bar. She lives with her family in Nashville, Tennessee.
