)-- The Central Texas Angel Network announced today that its angel-investor members participated in a $2 million round of funding for Austin-based SmarteSoft, the leader in easy-to-use, keyword-based, automated software testing products. The funding round was led by Daylight Partners. SmarteSoft plans to use the funding to accelerate expansion of its global Value Added Reseller network.
“SmarteSoft has a strong management team, a compelling IP position and unique products that continue to gain traction in the market,” said Jamie Rhodes, chairman of the Central Texas Angel Network and CEO of Perceptive Sciences. “They are another example of the experienced entrepreneurs we continue to see in our community, and angel investors are tapping into these opportunities.”

Customers range from start-up to Fortune 500 companies, and include American Airlines, Emerson Process, Thermo Electron, and Posera Software.
“We are pleased to have the participation of the Central Texas Angel Network,” said Gordon MacGregor, CEO of SmarteSoft Inc. “We are greatly benefiting from the expertise and relationships that our new investors bring to SmarteSoft. This investment will support the rapid expansion of our reseller network, as we continue to bring out new products and help our growing list of customers succeed in their test automation goals.”
