Syracuse Band Is "Moving In Stereo"

Lumination has released a Cars-tribute track honoring the band, Orr.

Syracuse, NY, August 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Though the 80s New Wave rock band, The Cars, may have driven away from the music scene but the band's music inspired one local band to let the good times roll again by releasing their funk-fusion version of The Cars' "Moving In Stereo."

The quartet made The Cars sound more hipper and into the times.

However, vocalist and bassist Derrick Whitt, also host of Insight on The Word Radio, said that Lumination's version is a very special tribute to Benjamin Orr, Cars' vocalist and bassist who died of pancreatic cancer in 2000.

"Lumination wants to give Benjamin a fitting tribute and well deserving for his contribution to American rock music by doing this track and give it a funk sound to it," Whitt said.

Its version is found on Garage Band web site online. Lumination will release their debut EP, "Bringing Home The Cars" in October 2008. It will be live performances featuring classic hits like "Shake It Up", "My Best Friend's Girl", and "Magic".
