Online Marketing Workshop for Tourism - Australia arms small and medium tourism businnes with the skills and knowledge to become self sufficient in online marketing.

Brisbane, Australia, August 17, 2008 --( More than 90 per cent of the key players in the tourism industry are small and medium enterprises and most lack a strategic sense of how to move forward in the e-market place.

In July, the principal of, Ms Fabienne Rabbiosi conducted her third training session regarding online marketing for tourism operators in the Beaudesert community.

The training has been popular with over 80 tourism operators attending to increase their knowledge of online marketing.

Ms Rabbiosi said her vision for these workshops is to provide knowledge that will empower businesses in smaller communities through instilling a strong understanding of how to effectively market their business online.

“To grow the economic impact of tourism in communities like Beaudesert I believe it is important to take a long-term approach of educating tourism operators on who their target traveller is, and how to tweak their online product so it directly responds to the needs of those searching for it,” Ms Rabbiosi said.

Ms Rabbiosi said this vision is shared by the Scenic Rim Regional Council who organised these workshops for their community members.

“The Beaudesert community is fortunate to have the Scenic Rim Regional Council, who is proactive in seeking and organising services that will assist members of their community in improving their business.”

An attendee of the online marketing workshop later told Ms Rabbiosi how practical she found the training when it came time to construct her company’s website.

“Clear, concise a huge help prior to setting up my company website,” an attendee said.

Ms Rabbiosi wishes to continue to work with local councils in educating community members on effective online tourism marketing and will be holding workshops in Ipswich and Springfield Lakes in the near future.
