QNAP Released New Firmware 2.6.0 for NVR-101/ 1012

Digital Zoom, Instant Alarm Notification, New IP Cameras Support Now Available.

Taipei, Taiwan, August 22, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The leading IP surveillance solutions provider QNAP System Inc. today announced the new firmware for its NVR-101/ NVR-1012 to support a number of new functions including digital zoom, on-screen alarm notification, and new cameras support etc. QNAP NVR (network video recorder) users can now upgrade the server firmware to version 2.6.0 or later to experience these new functions on NVR.

With the digital zoom function, users can use the mouse to perform digital zoom in or zoom out and adjust the angle of view of the video image when monitoring. The alarm notification feature alerts the administrator with an on-screen icon on the monitoring page when an event, e.g. motion detection, takes place so that the administrator can respond immediately against any accidents, unwanted intrusion or system errors.

Moreover, a number of new TrendNet, Linksys, Y-CAM, and IPUX IP cameras are now compatible with QNAP NVR series by upgrading the new firmware. The MPEG4 function of ICS-1013 camera is also supported which enables users to enjoy high resolution monitoring and recording by the NVR. “QNAP’s NVR series is a Linux-embedded network surveillance system designed for professional remote monitoring, recording, and playback,” said Andrew Yu, Product Manager from QNAP. “We hope that by offering the new firmware upgrade, user can enjoy higher level of convenience of use with our NVR-101/ 1012 and have more options when selecting the IP cameras to set up their network surveillance system.” Besides, the NVR web interface is now available in Russian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian which enables the native speakers to use the QNAP NVR in their own languages.

QNAP NVR is designed with green concept which allows non-stop system operation 24x7 at the power consumption of less than 20W, which is more power-saving than an energy-saving bulb. It supports complete recording features up to 4 channels simultaneously, and also supports up to 1TB internal SATA hard drive, expandable to 2TB via eSATA connection to an external hard drive for long-term recording. NVR-101/ 1012 is the new generation digital surveillance solution which provides immediate effective protection yet affordable and it is perfect for home and office.
