Gay and Lesbian Web Directories Merge

Two long running and established GLBT Portals and web directories, BQueer and PinkPagesNet, have joined forces to better serve their global Gay and Lesbian clients.

Vancouver, Canada, August 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Vancouver based Rainbow Communications is pleased to announce the merger of it’s GLBT Portal, BQueer.com, with PinkPagesNet.com, the long-running Australia and New Zealand based Gay and Lesbian travel directory.

The PinkPagesNet directory started in 1995 to provide an online resource for the New Zealand gay community. Over the years it expanded it’s reach to include Australia and other regions. At the Polar opposite end of the world, the BQueer Portal was the evolution and rebirth of the long-running QueerSeek.com, which first launched in early 2000. Mike Owen, the owner of BQueer.com and President of Rainbow Communications, announced the re-branding of QueerSeek and the launch of the new BQueer Portal earlier this year.

Mike is extremely positive about the potential of this partnership, and sees it as an opportunity for the Canadian-Based BQueer to reach an entirely new audience, and to move more into the booming Gay and Lesbian Travel Industry. "I am excited by the opportunity to increase the exposure of BQueer in Australia and New Zealand, and to become more travel-focused. Despite a struggling US economy, current statistics show that Gay travel is growing at an amazing rate!"

Mark H., from RainbowTourism.com, views this move as a positive one for both their current and future clients. "In Bqueer we have found a ready-made solution for providing our clients with a first class Gay Directory and promotional tool, which has a proven track record and well established presence on the web".

Under this partnership, the owners of websites currently listed in the PinkPagesNet directory will be encouraged to add their sites to the BQueer Directory, or to update their information if already listed. In a phased progression, all traffic from the Pink Pages Directory will be redirected to the BQueer site.

Both Rainbow Tourism and Rainbow Communications are members of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) and are currently offering special listing rates for fellow members.
