National Recording Artist Michael W. Smith to Perform in Local Benefit Concert

Award winning recording artist Michael W. Smith will perform in a benefit concert on September 14, 2008 at the Vail Christian High School Fine Arts Building,

Edwards, CO, August 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Over his 25 year career, Michael’s 20 albums have garnered multiple honors including an American Music Award, 3 GRAMMY Awards (from 13 nominations) and 40 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. In addition, he holds 16 Gold and 5 Platinum albums (that add up to more than 15 million in career sales), 33 No. 1 radio hits, and has been named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People.

Known for his caring spirit and willingness to participate in community causes, Michael has graciously agreed to perform for the benefit of 2 local organizations: the scholarship fund for The Vail Christian High School and Second Chance with Saving Grace, a non-profit headed by local Dr. Diane Dike.

Vail Christian High School, a Christ-centered school in partnership with the home, nurtures academic excellence through a rigorous academic program within a loving, Bible-based environment that encourages personal growth in Jesus Christ. Second Chance with Saving Grace, is a 501c(3) non-profit international organization whose mission is to educate, encourage, evangelize and enrich people’s lives. Its founder, Diane Dike, Ph.D., lives in the Vail Valley and is a sought-after inspirational speaker, teacher and singer who transforms lives everywhere she goes. She is the author of The Adventures of Gracie and Diane book series for children and animal lovers of all ages, and has recently released her truly amazing autobiography, God Made Only One of Me.
