Arlington, VA, August 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- First time novelist Bill Mc Neice is providing an example of the Fantasy genre not requiring the traditional characters of wizards, elves, dwarfs, and dragons to tell a good tale.

The Vision of Second Samuel is an example of some of the fantastic things that can happen to ordinary people in places as mundane as the inner city. It is the story of a twenty-something-year-old lady who, under the watchful eye of the title character Samuel Rhee, turns having her apartment destroyed by fire into her becoming a major educational influence in the inner city. The first part of the book sets the stage: Miss El, the main character, learns from her street-person-like friend Sam (the title character) his insights and philosophies about dealing with inner-city inhabitants. The mid section has Miss El enduring the transformation from yuppie working in the city to jobless inner-city inhabitant surviving however she can. The final section shows the effect Miss El has on the school children living in the inner city and on the illiterate adults who make the streets their home. The book's title is derived from Sam 'seeing', through a gift of Second Sight, the effect Miss El will have on the inner city before she has actually lived through it.

The Vision of Second Samuel is available by special order at Barnes & Noble bookstores or from Stores.Lulu.com/BeaJay, where this book, along with others books written by Mr. Mc Neice, can be ordered.
