Latham Architects Build on Social Housing Success

Derby, United Kingdom, August 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Derby-based architectural and urban design practice Lathams has beaten off national competition to work with one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable and supported housing.

After a national tender process involved nearly 50 practices, Lathams has been selected as one of just a handful to join a four-year framework agreement with Home.

Home has bases throughout the UK, managing 52,000 homes and providing care and support services to more than 14,000 people every year. It also aims to build more than 2,000 additional affordable homes every year.

Lathams director Chris Twomey said: “The opportunity to work alongside such a major name in the social housing market as Home is a very exciting one.

“We will be supporting Home through the Sheffield, Wetherby and Derby areas, producing designs for projects that might vary in scale from small urban infill sites to major regeneration projects.”

The Home appointment is the latest in a series of contract wins and appointments for Lathams’ specialist housing team in recent months. The team is already working on housing masterplans in the Rotherham area, and has also been appointed to lead the comprehensive regeneration of Stonebridge Park, in the St Ann’s district of Nottingham, on behalf of the City Council and Housing Association LHA-ASRA.
