iUniverse Would Like to Announce the Release of Looking for Jencey by Dorothy Hendry

Bloomington, IN, September 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- New Biography Offers Fascinating Look at Life of Author’s Grandmother.

Endearing Narrative Tells of Strong Heroine’s Life in Early 20th Century.

Looking For Jencey, The Life of Lizzie Elnora Murphy Casebolt is unlike most biographies. Told in an engaging present-tense style, this story by the late author Dorothy Diemer Hendry describes her grandmother’s true experiences through the eyes of this real-life heroine.

The idea for the book was sparked when Hendry and her sister, Emma Lou, who finished the book after the author’s death in 2006, were searching for information about their great-grandmother, Jencey Wishon Murphy. Jencey died in 1874, when Lizzie was just seven years old. Throughout Lizzie’s life, Jencey visited her in dreams, making the connection between mother and daughter a lifelong constant as Lizzie pressed on through joy and sorrow.

From Lizzie’s early years with her mother on the family farm to her adoption by a caring judge and his wife in small-town Missouri, the narrative tells with rich detail and unique insight how Lizzie become the compelling woman she is remembered as. Her formative years and her adult life with children and grandchildren are all described in this unique release.

Determined and caring, Lizzie grew up to experience romance, success and hardship. The author tells the powerful life story of this strong woman, who came of age in the post-Civil War era and endured the heartbreak of world war and the tumultuous times of the Depression. With a vivid portrayal that could only be created by someone who is intimately linked with this unique woman, Hendry describes a life well-lived – 91 years of happiness and lessons to be learned.

Looking For Jencey, The Life of Lizzie Elnora Murphy Casebolt flows like a novel and is as intriguing as flipping through family photo albums and listening to old stories. It is a universal story of daughters, wives and friends wrapped in the true events that make Lizzie’s experiences poignant even today.
