Oregon Artist Leslie Tejada Opens New Chicago Show

Gallery KH in Chicago Opens It's Fall Season as Crowds Gather for New Tejada Show.

Chicago, IL, September 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The 3000 sq ft space of Gallery KH kicked off it's Fall season to eager audiences wanting to see the latest works from Oregon artist Leslie Tejada. Woven Light: Leslie Tejada runs until October 11.

After finding inspiration in the landscapes of Santa Barbara, California for 40 years, Tejada made the move to Portland, Oregon where she found new inspiration in the northern light and the changing seasons.

Pop culture has also inspired the artist, particularly in "House of Slytherin". The title came about while the artist was reading a Harry Potter book.

All of Tejada’s paintings feature metallic and interference pigments, which cause subtle or dramatic color changes depending on the light. The patterns, textures, and rhythms of nature are expressed in the layering of translucent color.

“Beauty envisioned through introspection is the inspiration for my art.” –Leslie Tejada
