From first-time Haitian-American filmmaker Roger Omeus, Jr., comes this inspiring story self-acceptance, self-love and begin with a question, "What am I doing with my life?" Faybien Allen (RayMartell Moore) begins his journey with this question and it defines every decision he makes. A homophobic father defines this young gay man world and a colorful cast of friends who he realizes are as flawed as he feels. However, when Faybien meets a man that proves there is life after 'coming out' it is revealed to him that he is worthy of love, respect, and happiness. His self-hate, love and relationships collide in a dramatic resolution that will leave him forever changed and reborn.

Presented by One in Ten, Reel Affirmation is in its 18th year and is one of the third largest annual GLBT film festivals in the United States with annual attendance of over 20,000. This year it runs from October 16-25, 2008, and screens at various venues in the Washington, DC area.

In addition, fans swarmed the DC Black Pride Film Forum to catch a glimpse of the movie. Roger S. Omeus, Jr. is the executive producer and the film is also co-produced by Sontaia P.
