Powerchex Awarded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP)

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of East London and London-based pre-employment screening company Powerchex–– has won approval from the Technology Strategy Board.

London, United Kingdom, September 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- State of art, technological innovation is the order of the day as the University of East London and Powerchex, a City based pre-employment screening firm that specialises in serving the financial services sector, are collaborating on a unique project which will eventually deliver a 'best in class' strategic IT function for the organisation.

Having determined that technological innovation is an important element of delivery across the financial services sector, Powerchex firmly prioritised it as a key issue to consider. The KTP at Powerchex aims to deliver a truly unique and innovative solution unlike any other currently available in the market. Once operational, Powerchex’s system will be able to deliver on several fronts which have been ignored by traditional screening systems.

Alexandra Kelly, Managing Director at Powerchex commented, "This KTP project is the central thread in our long term strategic plans. As the leading pre-employment screening company in the sector, it is vital that we respond to our clients’ needs with a truly innovative solution. The expertise that the academic partners from the University will bring to the Partnership will add to our considerable experience and knowledge in the area."

Prof Dominic Palmer-Brown, Associate Dean of the School of Computing and Technology at the University of East London said, “This KTP builds on the already significant collaboration between UEL and Powerchex. It provides a great opportunity to bring the School’s expertise in software systems design and data mining to the market.”
