Timothy J. Cartwright Elected and Installed to Economic Development Council of Collier County Board of Directors

Timothy J. Cartwright, Managing Director of 5th Avenue Advisors and Compass Advisory Group, has been elected to the Economic Development Council of Collier County (EDC) board of directors. Cartwright says, “I look forward to the opportunity to serve the community over the next year."

Naples, FL, September 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Timothy J. Cartwright, Managing Director of 5th Avenue Advisors and Compass Advisory Group, has been elected to the Economic Development Council of Collier County (EDC) board of directors.

Cartwright was installed at the EDC’s annual Excellence in Industry Awards event on Saturday, September 13 as an Ex-Officio Director.

Cartwright says, “I look forward to the opportunity to serve the community over the next year. The Economic Development Council of Collier County is vital to the overall strength of the local economy. I am honored to be a part of such an outstanding team of individuals.”

Cartwright has over 16 years of experience in strategic consulting, business transactions and financial services. Before starting Compass Advisory Group, which provides investment banking services primarily in mergers and acquisitions, Cartwright established By-Products Interactive, an electronic trading, market research and publishing company; and Benchmark Solutions, a supply chain consulting firm. He began his career working with middle-market companies at Arthur Andersen with a specialty in enterprise software solutions. Cartwright earned his MBA degree from J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Cartwright is also the President of the Gulf Coast Venture Forum (GCVF), a not-for-profit organization and a group of Southwest Floridians dedicated to making our region’s new and emerging businesses successful. GCVF promotes the success of the region's new and emerging businesses by bringing together entrepreneurs, educational resources, capital providers and service providers. The group also offers informative educational programs presented by seasoned, recognized professionals and business people, providing a place for the sharing and exchange of business and technical experience.

He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership and on the organizing committee for the Southwest Florida Chapter of BioFlorida.

The Economic Development Council of Collier County focuses its efforts on diversifying the Collier County economy, creating high-wage, value-added jobs, facilitating capital investment in the community, encouraging environmentally friendly economic growth, and promoting initiatives which provide all Collier County residents with opportunities for upward economic mobility.

Other newly elected Directors of the EDC include: Trish A. Biebricher, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Moorings Park in Naples; Michael R. Dill, Business Unit Director/Facility Leader for Parker Hannifin Aerospace Group in Naples; Chris Doyle, President and Publisher of the Naples Daily News and Scripps Southwest Florida Group; Derek S. Eckleman, Vice President and General Counsel for ASG Software Solutions in Naples; David Riviera, P.E., Vice President, Corporate Business Unit Leader for WilsonMiller; and Susan R. Tackacs, Chief Operating Officer for Physicians Regional Medical Center, owned by Health Management Associates. All of the members of the board will serve for the fiscal year, beginning October 1st, 2008.
