About the Artists:
David Crothers, who works in acrylics, has been involved in numerous gallery shows, painting landscapes, and looking for that “Unique view”.
Elizabeth King Durand with printmaking, whose etchings usually include landscapes, tries to achieve a balance between teaching and her working studio. She enjoys creating colorful mono prints and “traditional etchings that portray scenes of Rochester and the Finger Lakes.”
Jan Mettee with watercolors, who often teaches at the workshops, is best known for painting close-up everyday life. “My paintings reflect my love of Canandaigua Lake and my Ohio home.”
Gail Smith Schirmer with oil, has studied in Paris, Italy, and with several noted artists in the U.S. “My family and my painting are the joys of my life.”
John Nihart with sculptures, who spent his youth around farm equipment, uses windmills, plows, and other implements to influence his art. He often forges and welds steel into enigmatic images.
Artist Pat Rini Rohrer established the Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery in 2003. It is located in a beautifully refurbished 1850's building on Main Street in downtown Canandaigua, a thriving art community. The Canandaigua art gallery is also a working studio for workshops and classes.
