Atlanta, GA, October 17, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- Infor today announced the availability of a subscription-priced software-as-a-service (SaaS) option for Infor EAM Business Edition, a powerful enterprise asset management (EAM) solution designed for small and mid-sized businesses. The SaaS option provides the same robust functionality available in the on-premises solution, but is completely supported and hosted by Infor. In addition to the new subscription-based monthly pricing option, Infor continues to offer both traditional licensed on-premises software and licensed hosted offerings providing organizations with a range of purchase and deployment choices to fit their business requirements.
Designed for small and mid-sized companies with one or more sites, Infor EAM Business Edition manages several essential business functions within a single web-based solution, and helps reduce asset downtime by ensuring equipment is properly and regularly maintained. The added deployment and payment options enable companies to benefit from rich functionality but in a solution footprint designed to meet the unique IT and time-to-value requirements of small and mid-sized businesses.
“Effective asset management can help small and mid-sized businesses cut maintenance costs, reduce asset downtime and improve productivity, which are especially important in tough economic times when profit margins are thin,” said John Murphy, director, EAM, Infor. “The addition of a SaaS Subscription option gives customers greater choice and flexibility to take advantage of the capabilities of Infor EAM Business Edition, without a large up-front investment or the need to manage IT infrastructure.”
Infor EAM Business Edition is now available to customers in the following options:
• On-premises – traditional perpetual licensed software deployed at customer’s facilities
• SaaS Subscription – customer subscription for on-demand use
• SaaS Hosted License – traditional perpetual licensed software hosted by Infor in a SaaS (multi-tenant) environment
Infor EAM Business Edition delivered via a SaaS Subscription model allows companies who previously thought robust asset management was out of reach to take advantage of the solution’s benefits and remain competitive. Low up-front payments combined with no capital expenses makes this an ideal solution for companies that want to reduce operating costs associated with equipment, facility and fleet maintenance.
Infor EAM Business Edition provides businesses with advanced functionality in work management, materials and inventory management, and preventative maintenance as well as mobile capabilities. The solution grows with the customer, extending the life of the IT investment. Customers that select the SaaS Hosted License offering can easily move to Infor EAM Business Edition’s On-Premises solution at no additional software cost. As maintenance requirements expand, customers can seamlessly migrate to the Enterprise Edition as well as Infor EAM Asset Sustainability Edition, an asset management solution that incorporates energy measurement and efficiency features to reduce costs and negative environmental impact.
Infor SaaS Hosting Center
Infor’s hosting center features a true multi-tenant architecture, where a single instance of the software serves multiple customers, allowing Infor to offer the rich functionality of Infor EAM Business Edition at a lower cost than traditional hosting, which requires separate hardware for each customer. Infor’s hosting center follows best practices for security and undergoes annual SAS 70 Type II audits which review the operations and security of the SaaS solutions. Infor has deployed Infor EAM Business Edition SaaS as a high availability solution, employing redundant network, server and storage components. The infrastructure provided by the SAS 70 Type II audited data center contains fully redundant components and backup power generation capability.
