Synology® Released the Latest Speedy, Smart, and Energy Saving 2-Bay NAS Model Disk Station DS209+

Taipei, Taiwan, October 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Synology® Inc. today announced the formal release of its latest 2-bay Disk Station model, the ultra-high performance and quiet Disk Station DS209+. The DS209+ is equipped with hardware specifications of 800 MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 3 USB ports and 1 eSATA port, and is furthermore batched with the most updated Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 software released in late September of brand new business features and polished application enhancements.

The DS209+ surpasses its 2-bay predecessors in various aspects yet follows out the concept of energy saving, performance orientation, and quietness. A test result verified by Synology laboratory shows that within RAID 1 configuration, the DS209+ reaches 42+MB/Sec in reading and 36+MB/Sec in writing; the power consumption it requires is a mere 32 watts and the system is designed with Scheduled Power On/Off function that furthers the saving principle. The newly introduced 3-speed smart fan design adjusts its spinning rhythm automatically based on temperature detected. But even with the fan topping at maximum speed, the noise level is barely audible of a mere 25 dB(A), which is even quieter than human whispering.
