NKES Vice President Becomes Only Electrical Contractor in the State of Kentucky Certified in Green Building Practices

Northern Kentucky Electric Service VP Steve Dorgan Named Green Advantage Certified Practitioner.

Alexandria, KY, October 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- NKES Vice President joins elite group of professionals.

Northern Kentucky Electric Service has taken another giant step in becoming the “green” experts in the area by adding yet another accreditation to its list of qualifications. Vice President Steve Dorgan completed the Green Advantage certification program and is the only certified electrical contractor in the state of Kentucky, and one of only a handful in Greater Cincinnati.

The Green Advantage is an environmental certification program, sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that brings consumers together with certified building practitioners who have proven expertise in the area of green building. Individuals who have completed the certification have been informed about new techniques and technologies, and best practices regarding energy-efficient building.

“It’s a great privilege to be a part of this influential group of professionals,” Dorgan said. “Clients of our NKEco program will now have the advantage of the most up-to-date techniques for creating a more eco-friendly and energy efficient building.”

The recently unveiled NKEco program is designed to help industrial and retail facilities cope with the rising cost of energy prices by installing more efficient lighting and power supplies, and taking steps to institute best energy usage practices. Features of NKEco include a comprehensive facility energy audit to spot potential areas of waste, and suggestions on how to reduce consumption without sacrificing valuable time or productivity.

Forward thinking facility managers, franchise owners and operations leaders are also able to enlist the services of NKES professionals to help their facilities meet Energy Star and Green Seal certification standards.

“I truly look forward to sharing this knowledge with our customers and helping them proactively prepare for the future,” Dorgan said. “Hopefully by working hand-in-hand, we can decrease energy bills and improve the environment at the same time.”
