SecureUSA Develops Solution to Increase Life Cycle of Anti Terrorist Vehicle Barriers

SecureUSA Inc. has developed a solution to increase the life, usability, reliability and flexibility of the popular MP5000 mobile vehicle barrier. The quick to install solution is being widely implemented across the US to protect high profile, at risk events and facilities.

Atlanta, GA, October 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- SecureUSA announced today the release of a new module to eliminate lifecycle and power issues associated with the MP5000 portable vehicle barrier. The new module can be easily and quickly installed in the field, providing a cost effective solution for rehabilitating malfunctioning access control equipment.

Many organizations have purchased mobile vehicle barriers to provide a temporary physical perimeter for high profile events, only to find that the power source provided is not adequate for the level of usage required. In response SecureUSA has developed an easy to install conversion kit which is now being widely used across the US, increasing the usability, reliability and flexibility of the popular MP5000 vehicle barrier.

Specifically the SecureUSA MP5000 Conversion Kit allows operators to plug barriers into local power supplies such as light poles and generators, instead of relying on limited battery power. The SecureUSA MP5000 Conversion Kit allows mobile barriers to handle high traffic volumes and increases unit reliability by reducing risk of mechanical or electrical failure. The Conversion Kit importantly enables the MP5000 Barrier to meet the functional requirement demands of 15 continuous hours of operation.

“We had issue with the MP5000 from the outset. The Republic National Convention in 2004 exposed the achilles heal of the unit, the battery (dc power). Our efforts to upgrade the batteries and install industrial trickle charges met with more failure. Our deployments are large scale and require these units to perform non-stop for days at a time. We needed to find a solution”.

“When I contacted SecureUSA, you assured me that my troubles were over. Janine Hamelly, Gary Souther and the SecureUSA design team came up with the current a/c power unit “kit” that is now installed in 13 of my units with the remaining 8 to be converted in the very near future.

“The newly converted units have performed flawlessly, and yes I said flawlessly. To date they have been deployed to the 2007 United Nations General Assembly, Pope Benedict’s visit to NYC and are now being readied for Fleet Week 2008. I would like to thank you and your team for understanding the vital need for these units to work and work properly.” Government Official

The SecureUSA Conversion Kit is supplied with enclosure and comprehensive instructions for easy and quick install, taking only 30 minutes. The previously supplied power cord and remote panel can still be used. SecureUSA can provide on-site installation services if needed. Optional technical features also include wiring for traffic light installation and an additional limit switch assy to turn off the pump motor when the barrier is in raised position, preventing pump pressure by-pass.

“SecureUSA actively seeks to assist its customers with innovative solutions to address perimeter security issues, and is proud to offer the industry a real solution to this barrier problem,” said Gary Souther of SecureUSA.
