GTCbio Announces Its 2nd Annual Oncology Biomarkers Conference

Miami, FL, November 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- GTCbio just announced its 2nd Annual Oncology Biomarkers Conference taking place on January 19-20, 2009 in Miami, Florida.

The conference will take attendees through “The Life Cycle of a Cancer Biomarker”; examining the path from the identification of a candidate biomarker, development through validation, onto the clinic to be able to identify unmet needs and spark new discoveries back in the laboratory. This unique organization of the sessions will allow attendees to view the interdependency of the entire process. Sessions include: The Birth of a Biomarker – Pre-clinical, Growing pains – Early Clinical Design, Adolescence – Clinical Validation, Maturity – In the Clinic, and Going Full circle – Lessons Learned from the Clinic.

The conference features prominent leaders from all across the field of cancer research to cover new and innovative techniques for biomarker detection and validation.

Keynote and featured presentations will be given by Dr. Samir Hanash, Program Head of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Dr. Christopher Foster, Professor, University of Liverpool, and Dr. Garret Hampton, Executive Director of Molecular and Medical Sciences at Celgene San Diego. Other speakers from NIH, FDA, Merck, Abbott laboratories, Amgen, Roche, MD Anderson Cancer Center and more, will present on the 19th and 20th.
