NFLLaunches "Super Ad: Believe in Now" Promotion for Fans to Help Decide Which Story Will be the NFL's Super Bowl Commercial

Online promotion let's NFL players pitch their personal stories they feel will make a great Superbowl Ad and it's up to the fan's to help decide which story will win. Winning Pitch to be Produced into NFL's Ad to Run during Super Bowl XLIII Broadcast Fans Can Vote on Starting November 20, 2008.

New York, NY, November 27, 2008 --( The NFL is asking fans to pick the pitch that will become its Super Bowl commercial. Following the success of last year's promotion, NFL players again will be going head-to-head off the field with their pitches for the NFL's Super Bowl XLIII commercial.

The winning pitch will inspire the NFL's commercial that will run during Super Bowl XLIII on Sunday, Feb. 1 on NBC. The player who submits the winning pitch will be featured in the spot.

NFL Films traveled to NFL training camps in a customized NFL–themed tractor trailer to capture the players' stories. Fans will have the opportunity to hear these unique tales and get an exclusive look at some of their favorite NFL players, such as:

* Raiders' Darren McFadden, who talks about the day he realized he was faster than the other six-year olds and decided he wanted to play football.
* Falcons' Michael Turner, who relives gaining more than 200 yards in his first game as a starter.
* Cardinals' Kurt Warner, who recounts standing in the tunnel prior to the Super Bowl having his past flash before his eyes.

The superad website ( was developed by teamDigital promotions ( and features 215 NFL players, 48 of them will be eligible for voting. The selected pitches will be grouped by division and fans will vote for one of six players from each division during the playoffs voting rounds, between November 20 and December 17. Videos from the NFC will be eligible for voting November 20 – December 3. Videos from the AFC will be eligible for voting December 4 - 17. The remaining videos will be posted on in the All Videos section.

The "Super Ad: Believe In Now" championship round begins December 18. The contenders will be narrowed down from 48 to eight, with each division represented by one story. Also, one additional video will be included in the championship round as the wildcard. Fans will vote for their favorite out of the nine finalists over an 18-day period.

The winning pitch will be determined by fan vote and a panel of judges, consisting of various members of the extended NFL family in areas such as marketing, advertising and media. The championship round voting period will run from 12/18/08 – 1/4/09.

Joe Pytka, filmmaker and award-winning director of numerous television commercials, including last year's critically acclaimed NFL spot featuring Ephraim Salaam and Chester Pitts of the Houston Texans, will direct the commercial made from the winning pitch in collaboration with the NFL, NFL Films and BBDO.
