Bob Torgan Captures Senior Net Division Title at 2008 Tour Championship of the International Players Tour

Two Handicap Senior from Willis, TX scores impressive seven stroke victory with a net score of 227 for 54-Hole Event at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas.

Saginaw, TX, November 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- As part of the 2008 IPT Tour Championship at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, TX held November 20-23, 2008, Bob Torgan defeated the other 25 entrants in the Senior Net Division Competition, and earned a grand total of $5137 for his weekend performance. Torgan’s solid performance also earned him a 4th place finish in the Net Division Championship, which was won by Jay Mitchell from East Texas.

Torgan’s consistent play on the tough layouts of the Ram Rock and Apple Rock courses bested the efforts of 2nd Place finisher Bill Harris of Killeen, TX and 3rd Place finisher Herb Joiner of Plano, TX. The Senior Net competitions have become a popular mainstay on the IPT, providing senior players of all skill levels a place to compete for cash prizes with players of similar age. Ron Beaman, Founder & CEO of IPT, expressed his thoughts on Torgan’s performance, stating “Bob has been one of the most consistent players on our Tour for many years, and this is certainly a great win for him. He should enjoy the winter ahead with a nice trophy and some cash!”

The 2008 Tour Championship culminated a successful year for IPT, which conducted over 220 competitions in 15 metro areas throughout a ten state region around the country. Total purses for 2008 will reach nearly $600,000, setting another annual tour record. IPT members of all skill levels compete both at scratch and with a proprietary handicap system, creating a unique “inside the ropes” experience generally seen only in a PGA Tour environment.
