IAdea XMP-300 Digital Signage Player to Support SMIL Open Standard

Irvine, CA, December 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- IAdea, a leader in digital signage media player technology, is introducing its new XMP-300 media player targeting professional digital signage integrators. The XMP-300 follows the W3C SMIL Audio Video Standard for professional system integration projects.

XMP-300 provides high-performance video capabilities in a super-low power consumption hardware design. It is capable of decoding full-HD (1080p) media files in MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264, and VC-1 (WMV9) formats, and supports HDMI output. The power consumption of the XMP-300 is under 20 watts with the solid-state version XMP-305 running at 10 watts only.

SMIL is the main scripting language controlling the XMP-300 player. It is based on the XML markup language and established by W3C as a multimedia standard. Supporters of SMIL beside IAdea includes Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, and Real Networks.
