Rollex Releases Aluminum Soffit, Fascia, and Trim Coil in Fiber-Cement Colors

Elk Grove Village, IL, December 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Rollex Corporation, a manufacturer specializing in metal building products, has added seven popular fiber-cement siding colors to its lineup of aluminum soffit panels, fascia covers, and related exterior components.

Rollex has expanded its aluminum color palette to offer cost, performance, and ease-of-installation options to home builders and contractors who use fiber cement siding as the principal sidewall cladding but would welcome companion products of aluminum in the same colors.

Rollex’s new hues are the seven most popular colors used by the world’s leading manufacturer of fiber cement siding. The exact-match colors are Arctic White, Cobblestone, Khaki Brown, Monterey Taupe, Navajo Beige, Sail Cloth, and Woodstock Brown.

All seven colors are available in Rollex aluminum soffit panels, fascia covers, and trim coil. Several of the new colors are also available in Rollex aluminum “rainware”— gutters, downspouts, and gutter coil stock.

Earlier this year, Rollex introduced a line of pre-formed aluminum flashings, in the same seven colors, designed expressly for fiber cement siding installations.

Rollex representatives cited reasons why contractors would opt for aluminum soffit and fascia components over fiber cement, vinyl, or wood:

• Aluminum soffit is considerably lighter in weight than fiber cement, making it easier to handle and install in overhead applications. It’s free of the silica dust produced when cutting fiber cement board, a potential respiratory hazard. Some homeowners prefer the appearance of the unobtrusive pattern of small rectangular openings in Rollex vented aluminum soffit to the “pegboard” look of vented fiber-cement soffit, with its conspicuous round air holes.

• Unlike vinyl soffit, aluminum won't sag in the heat. In extreme cold, vinyl becomes brittle and subject to shattering when handled; aluminum doesn't. Aluminum won't rattle in the wind like vinyl, which must be loosely hung to allow for thermal expansion and contraction.

• Aluminum fascia covers are easier to install than fiber cement trim boards because of their lighter weight. Their flexibility allows them to adapt to irregular surfaces and problematic locations.

• Pre-finished aluminum soffit and fascia eliminate the periodic scraping, priming, and repainting of wood and unfinished fiber cement planks.

• Aluminum is recyclable.

Rollex’s aluminum products are double coated with an Environ® acrylic finish that resists scuffing and fading. The two-coat finish is an environmentally friendly combination of highly durable resin and pigment technology in a waterborne coating that’s low in volatile organic compounds (“low-VOC”), making it a “green” alternative to other coatings.

The company says its premium two-coat process is more durable and color-fast than the one-coat polyester finishes found on some aluminum products.

Founded in 1951, Rollex is one of the oldest and most trusted manufacturers of metal products for residential and commercial construction. Rollex manufactures aluminum soffit, fascia, and accessories; steel and aluminum siding; aluminum rainware systems; and aluminum specialty products. The company introduced the world’s first modular, pre-finished soffit system in 1959. Rollex is committed to “Building Excellence” and is headquartered in Elk Grove Village, Ill., a Chicago suburb, where it fabricates and warehouses its products in its own facilities.
