Fast Flakes Takes Center Stage at the Cereal Bowl

Olympic medalist Lauryn Williams’ Fast Flakes Cereal added to the menu.

Miami, FL, June 13, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Olympic Silver medalist and 100m world champion Lauryn Williams (Miami, Florida) announced today that she has struck a deal with Miami’s Cereal Bowl to add her breakfast cereal Fast Flakes to the menu at the popular café. On Saturday, June 17th at 9:00 a.m., Lauryn will appear at the Cereal Bowl located at 1560 S. Dixie Highway to sell the first bowls and introduce patrons to her feature mixture, the Lauryn Williams’ Fast Flakes Fix – yogurt topped by the light and crunchy flakes, almonds and honey combination. She’ll also spend the morning meeting fans, taking pictures and signing autographs.

“Partnering with The Cereal Bowl to bring Fast Flakes to Miami is very exciting. The Cereal Bowl is all the rage right now, capitalizing on a novel idea that is a terrific way to bring families together. If they can enjoy my cereal in the process, I’m glad,” said Lauryn.

The Cereal Bowl is definitely ‘all the rage’ at the moment, having been discussed in the June 5th issue of "Time" magazine as being one of the top such cafes in the country. CEO Ken Rader opened the Miami café across from the University of Miami, targeting the college demographic, but draws many families as well, especially on the weekends.

“Fast Flakes will be a great addition to our collection of breakfast dishes. Either as it is or with any of our toppings, the students, young children and their parents will certainly enjoy it. I’m very pleased to offer it to our customers who I am sure are also Lauryn’s fans.”

Fast Flakes is produced by PLB Sports, the manufacturers of other professional athletes’ sports cereals and snacks. Lauryn is the first woman to be honored by PLB Sports with a product in their 10 year history. To share this honor with her fans she has decided that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her cereal will go to support the Lauryn Williams Dynamic Female Athlete Scholarship Fund she established earlier this year.
