Blizzard Time is BlitzTime

Winter Weather Shuts Down Schools, Businesses, Churches, but Not Networking Event.

Walpole, MA, December 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Business owners across the state closed up shop and went home early today in anticipation of the winter storm that slammed into the Northeast. And while most businesses were closed with little chance of making money in an already strapped economy, one way to find new clients was staying open.

BlitzTime.com, an online business networking event provider, rolled out its Affiliate Program on schedule with a networking Blitz event that required only that their attendees have access to a phone and the Internet.

“It was great!” said Kelle Sparta of Sparta Success Systems, Cambridge, MA. “I was stuck at home watching the snow come down and I was still networking for new business. I didn’t have to shovel out my car, slide on the unplowed roads, and vie for parking downtown. What could be easier?”

BlitzTime callers fill out a profile online that tells the others in their Blitz about them and their business. They sign up for a Blitz and when the time comes, they sign onto the website and dial into the phone line. The BlitzTime system automatically sets them up with one-on-one conversations of 6-8 minutes in length during which they can find out more about the person on the other end of the phone and tell that person about themselves.

"This has been a great tool… I like the structure of having a finite amount of time, so you can identify people you'd like to continue relationships with but you're not wasting a whole lot of time with people who don't have the synergy." said John Bates, who bills himself on BlitzTime’s site as “The Job Guy”.

As more business networking professionals move into social networking using tools like LinkedIn and Plaxo, some are forming their own power networking groups online using BlitzTime to share referrals and prospect for new business. Some are even creating joint ventures and cross promotions – coming up with new business ideas that they would never have thought of without the input from their informal BlitzTime peer advisory board.

So even as Governor Patrick told all non-emergency state employees not to come to work and thousands abandoned their businesses for the comfort of their homes, the smart networkers were still virtually out in the field - talking and making money.

Founded in 2007 by a new technology consulting company, Blitz Innovations, BlitzTime helps people connect for business networking, social networking, family reunions, and more. Utilizing a unique and innovative approach, BlitzTime allows people to stay in their home and office or on the road and yet still reach out into the world for more business and social connections.
