FastPitch Softball Pitching & Hitting Doubleheader Clinic at Frozen Ropes Chantilly – Sunday, January 4

Chantilly, VA, December 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- USA Softball Player of the Year, Angela Tincher will headline a fastpitch softball Pitching & Hitting Clinic at Frozen Ropes Chantilly on Sunday, January 4, 2009. The Hitting Clinic will be conducted by Rob Crews, Frozen Ropes National FastPitch Hitting Director and Director of FastPitch Operations for Nokona. The clinic has two sessions: 11:00-1pm and 2:00pm- 4:00pm. Players, parents, youth softball coaches and high school coaches are invited. This event is sponsored by Frozen Ropes and Nokona-Diamonds in the Rough FastPitch – the new Nokona fastpitch gem line.

Angela Tincher’s Endgame Pitching Clinic will focus on pitching fundamentals and movement, diamond strength for pitchers, throwing different types of pitches, mental aspects of pitching and live demonstration. Angela will be available for a question & answer session, pose for pictures and sign autographs.

Angela Tincher is a 2008 Virginia Tech graduate who rocked the softball world this year with her no-hitter of the USA Olympic Team during a pre-Olympic exhibition. As a senior at Virginia Tech, she hit the grand slam of national awards, winning the USA Softball National Player of the Year Award, the Honda Award for National Softball Player of the Year, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and was also named the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America of the Year for softball. She led the nation in earned run average (ERA) for the second-consecutive year and also led the country in strikeouts as a senior. She finished her career with a 123-35 record, a 0.78 ERA and 2,149 strikeouts - the third most in NCAA history of softball at any level. She was a three-time All-American as well as a three-time Academic All-American and is the most-decorated female athlete in school history. In the summer of 2008 Tincher played for the Akron Racers of the National Pro FastPitch League.

Rob Crews’ Scope & Rope Hitting Clinic will focus on the fundamentals of a strong, powerful swing, hitting for power, pitch recognition, mental approach to game, and advanced vision training. Rob is one of the most sought after hitting consultants in the fastpitch world and has assisted many dozens of high school players advance to the highest levels of NCAA play. He has consulted with programs such as UCLA, Florida, Maryland, Stanford, Fordham and Pacific. Rob is also the author of the book, Complete Game, a mental skills publication for improving in-game focus and confidence.

She is an excellent example for all the young softball players in our community. Not only is she one of the best players in all of softball but she was an Academic All-American at Virginia Tech. This clinic will be one of her last stops before leaving to play in Japan this spring,” said Koch.

Rob has trained some of the top fastpitch players in the northeast and worked with some of the top collegiate teams in the country. His advice on the mental skills of playing at the highest levels is a must for any high school player that wants to play collegiately,” said Koch.

The cost is $30 for one session (either hitting or pitching) or $50 for both sessions. Session 1 is from 11am-1pm with autographs and pictures with Angela Tincher from 1pm-1:30pm. Session 2 is from 2pm-4pm with autographs and pictures with Angela Tincher from 4pm-4:30pm.
