Graphic Design and Branding Blog Tackles Health Care Marketing

"Our Haus," the graphic design and branding blog of Grossman Design Associates, today asserts new standards for health care marketing and branding through its inaugural article, "A Movement Toward Better Health Care Marketing."

Minneapolis, MN, January 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Grossman Design Associates, a 50-year organization with a legacy of brand consulting and high-end graphic design, today announces an effort to assert new creative marketing standards for health care organizations through publication of its inaugural article, "A Movement Toward Better Health Care Marketing."

Published today at "Our Haus" (gdahaus.blogspot.com), the agency's original graphic design and branding blog, the article asserts the importance of better differentiating health care messages to capture attention and engage consumers.

The articles suggests that health care marketers start by rethinking the graphic imagery and language their hospital systems, clinics and health insurance companies use to reach consumers.

"The health care marketing community has gotten lazy," says Creative Accounts Director Eric Hayward. "We're dipping into the same pool of images and ideas we always have, relying on graphic design clichés that, however once relevant, have now become too easy for consumers to tune out," Hayward says.

The solution, he suggests, is to rethink the underlying "stories" that drive graphic design and messaging to connect with topics consumers care about. "We have to look at the self-generated motivations people have for getting healthy, and move beyond a top-down approach to disseminating recycled health care cliches," Hayward says.

Ultimately, the article states, a kind of marketing laziness leads to an equally gut-level response on behalf of consumers, who will choose the most convenient option rather than becoming discriminating consumers of care and services.

"Left without a reason to choose your services over another," the article concludes, "[consumers] also will pick whatever is closest at hand. Will it be you?" For more information visit gdahaus.blogspot.com, or write eric@grossmandesign.com.
