New Website Dedicated to the World of Rake Races Launches

Tokyo, Japan, January 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Today sees the launch of Rake-Races.net, a website devoted to the latest promotional craze sweeping the online poker world: rake races.

The website launches with the news of the $1 million Ladbrokes Rake Race, the biggest ever rake race in the history of online poker, togethor with news of the second biggest rake race in online poker: the $500,000 NoIQ poker rake race.

Rake-races.net co-owner Jordan Webb comments: "Rake races have taken the online poker world by storm and are proving to be hugely popular amongst both serious part-time players and full-time professionals alike. Many poker sites have launched potentially very lucrative rake race promotions this year and we're proud to be able offer players a website where they can find full information on all these races".

"We've offered up the internets first Rake Race Calendar and we're offering loyal players a very generous VIP program and loyalty store" Webb continues.

Rake races are a relatively new promotional tool being utilised by a growing number of online poker rooms. Players compete to play the most hands, pay the most rake, or accrue the most loyalty points over any given day, week or month. Prizes vary across the various races, the biggest single cash prize announced to date being $50,000 for finishing first in the $500,000 NoIQ poker rake race.

"Many players assume winning such races requires paying large sums in poker rake (commission), but this isn't always the case" Webb states. "Many poker room owners realise the value of catering to the smaller stakes players so host 'rake hands races'. These promotions reward players who play the most hands over the promotional period, irrespective of stake, and are perfect for players who don't play at the bigger games".

Webb continues, "What's more, players don't necessarily need to finish in the top spots to win significant amounts of money. Right now any player can finish 100th in the NoIQ $100K warm up race and still take home $1,000".
