Chicago Transit Authority Selects Software from Infor Public Sector

Infor EAM Enterprise Edition to Help Reduce Costs and Increase Productivity for Nation’s Second Largest Transit Agency.

Atlanta, GA, January 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Infor Public Sector today announced that the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), the nation’s second largest public transit agency, has selected Infor EAM Enterprise Edition to manage maintenance of its assets and more effectively utilize the resources that maintain them. The CTA, which provides transportation for the City of Chicago and 40 surrounding suburbs, will use the solution to determine optimum performance and maintenance levels on its more than 200 facilities.

Infor EAM Enterprise Edition will help the CTA improve asset management and performance and reliability by tracking historical information and enabling data analysis to determine optimal maintenance intervals and equipment inspection cycles.

CTA will use the EAM solution to manage the maintenance of its train stations, bus garages and other facilities. Additionally, Infor Public Sector’s software will help the CTA increase labor efficiency, reduce overtime and improve warranty claim collections. Through improved work order management, the agency will be able to transmit work orders to and from field units over its phone system for real-time information on work and labor. Up-to-the-minute work tracking and analysis enables supervisors and dispatchers to effectively manage maintenance staff to help eliminate unnecessary labor and downtime. The solution also tracks parts that are covered under warranty when a work order is completed, and automatically generates a warranty claim if a part is covered, enabling the CTA to increase its warranty claim dollars.
