IMA World Health Receives $250,000 Gift from F. Dohmen Foundation

IMA World Health, a Maryland-based global health care nonprofit, was one of the first to receive a gift from a newly-formed foundation of the F. Dohmen Company.

New Windsor, MD, January 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The F. Dohmen Co. Foundation has recognized IMA World Health (IMA) with a gift of $250,000 to support IMA’s programs and services—and to help meet IMA’s burgeoning capacity-building needs.

“We are immensely grateful to The F. Dohmen Co. Foundation for its support and for recognizing the effect and efficiency of our work,” said Paul Derstine, President, IMA. “Demand for IMA’s programs and services is enormous and continues to grow. This gift will help make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”

“IMA World Health is an effective and efficient charitable organization that shares our goal of delivering vital healthcare services to those in need across the globe,” said Cynthia LaConte, Chief Operating Officer, The F. Dohmen Co. “IMA’s powerful impact on people in developing nations is worthy of support, and we are proud to assist their efforts.”

The gift is part of $1.5 million in grants that The F. Dohmen Co. Foundation made to charities in 2008 in celebration of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based healthcare company’s 150th anniversary. IMA is one of three organizations selected for a $250,000 gift.

For nearly 50 years, IMA has been providing essential healthcare supplies and services and bolstering healthcare systems in developing nations across the globe.

Forbes recently recognized IMA as one of the most efficient large charities in the United States, and IMA consistently receives the highest efficiency ratings possible from charity watchdog groups like Charity Navigator.

IMA World Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps provide essential healthcare services and medical supplies to people in need around the world. IMA operates primarily in developing nations to restore health, hope and dignity to those most in need. For more information, visit them at www.IMAWorldHealth.org or call 877-241-7952.
