Bloomington, IN, February 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dramatic New Novel Spins Intricate Story of Russian Nightclub’s Taboo Secrets.

In Jacob Emrey’s new novel, Diana Agafya, a cast of complex characters drives this nail-biting and emotional plot to an exciting finish. Set in a Moscow nightclub and brothel, the situation in this seedy place begins as one woman, Diana Agafya, is tricked into knocking on the club’s door.

From a small Russian town, Diana believes she is reporting to a modeling agency, but the club’s owner Mikail, has different ideas. He informs her she will become a club prostitute and earn enough money to pay off Mikail’s horrendous debt. Seraphina, a current prostitute at the club, befriends Diana at first – long enough to learn she is a virgin. This pleases Mikail, who arranges for a British man to take her virginity for an impressive sum of money.

But Seraphina quickly turns on Diana when the object of her affections, Nikifor, the head of security for the club, becomes enamored with the new girl. Diana, alone and terrified, stays locked in her room for several nights until she ventures out into the nightlife of the club. There she meets Sacha, who readers meet at the opening of the novel when he tries to pull his friend from a gang of rapists at the club. Now, stalking the establishment to avenge his friend, he meets Diana. They quickly see more of each other and grow closer.

As romantic jealousy abounds, the club bustles with criminal mischief and violence that makes Diana Agafya a gritty story of the underbelly of back-alley Russian nightlife. Emrey crafts a thrilling ending that involves a complex scheme to get rid of Diana and the revelation that Diana’s coveted virginity has been taken by someone she actually loves. This debut novel is an intense page-turner that offers an intricate storyline full of twists and turns.
